Diagnostic utility of CBCT in systemic findings
Radiological volumetric diagnosis by means of CBCT is at its best in dentistry and maxillo-facial applications. We should not however forget that with this equipment we can also diagnose general illnesses that can even be matters of life or death. This therefore increases the responsibility of the person examining an acquired volume who must take care not to overlook through negligence or lack of experience these vital diagnostic matters. Dentists who are not familiar with certain diseases should therefore limit themselves to acquired volumes pertaining to dentistry or seek the opinion of more experienced doctors and specialist radiologists.
